Yako Perlov, Boulder Colorado, 19 years old, has received multiple 1st place awards including consecutive wins at MTNA Colorado, CSMTA, Yamaha Colorado, Steinway Colorado, Diversity and Inclusion Award CSMTA and the United States International Duo Piano Competition. In addition to 1st place awards, he has won prizes at the Aspen Music Festival Concerto Competition, MTNA Sketcher Horowitz Duo Competition, Ohio International Duo Paino Competition, the MTNA competition national round and the international Jefferson Symphony Orchestra concerto competition. He has studied with Dr. David Korevaar (CU Boulder), Anton Nel (Aspen Music Festival), Julian Martin (Aspen Music Festival), Jose Ramon Mendez (University of Michigan), and currently with Logan Skelton (University of Michigan). He enjoys performing with chamber groups and holds the principle piano position at the University Symphony Orchestra at the University of Michigan. In addition to piano, Yako is also a cellist and has performed with multiple orchestras.
